Faith of the Fathers Supplement

The New Attribute – Piety

Piety represents your character’s faith. Holy classes: the Cleric and Priest also introduced in this supplement, roll against it to perform prayers. In addition, all characters can roll against it to prevent paralysis and envenomation. However, it is one of the harder attributes to increase: you can not roll for it it upon levelling up unless you belong the the aforementioned holy classes. It can only be increased by completing tasks given by religious organizations, or by special items that the GM has created.

Piety Bonuses: For every 2 piety after 10 you gain an additional 1 turn to the grace period before dying to deadly poison. At 18 piety you will gain the daily ability to perform a Greater Shield prayer, giving 2 points of armour for 10 turns.

Orders

Orders give non-Priest/Cleric characters the ability to perform prayers. Order membership requires the character to uphold a code of morality, prohibiting acts of evil. Order prayers are weaker than class-prayers. Only two prayers can be performed per day. There are two Orders, with two prayers each.

Order of the Sacred Heart

The Order of the Sacred Heart is a military order, which demands faith, honour and obedience from its members.

Prayers:

Exorcism: your next attack will deal an addition 1d2 damage to undead or demonic opponents.

Invisibility: you turn invisible for 1d6 turns. Any stealth rolls are instantly succeeded.

Order of the Redeemer

The Order of the Redeemer is an order of doctors and apothecaries that demands that its members show mercy and charity.

Prayers:

Life Gift: confers 1d2 health to the target. (Conferred health is semi-permanent).

Drain Poison: roll against piety once more to cure a target afflicted by minor poison.
